A WOMAN who has lost nearly six stone in weight, and has made it to the final of the Slimming World consultant slimmer of the year competition, has launched a new weight-loss class in Monmouth.
Becky Harris joined Slimming World four weeks after her second daughter was born, with her midwife’s permission.
She was the heaviest she had ever been, and said: “The first night I walked back through the doors to Slimming World was terrifying. I felt like a failure, I had regained all the weight I had lost after my first daughter and here I was, back to try again. That feeling soon melted and as I listened to my fellow members’ stories, I just remember thinking ‘Wow, that’s going to be my story next year’ and it really was.
“I knew that night that if I could commit myself to going to the group each week, I really could achie-
ve my target weight.
“I have so much more energy now, which you need when you’re running around after two children. I was once plagued by constant pelvic pain that continued long after both of my children were born. By the time I had lost about three stone, I no longer noticed it.
“I found the determination to become a Slimming World consultant because losing weight helped me to believe I deserved a career and still be a mummy. Losing weight helped me find my identity again.”
Becky’s Slimming World group is held at the Riverside Hotel, every Wednesday at 7.30pm.
