ACTRESS and singer Emma Boyle, a former Forest Theatre Musical Society member, is set to appear in London's West End soon in the Queen hit musical We Will Rock You.

Emma, who appears under her stage name of Emma Hatton, will cover the lead role of Scaramouche.

She started rehearsals last month and will take to the stage at the Dominion theatre on October 10.

This is Emma's second time in the West End. Her first a 15 month run followed the first national tour of the now established Dreamboats and Petticoats, which she left in October last year to enable her to audition for other parts.

In the interim, she has also been busy pursuing her other interests which include jazz singing and for a short time she regularly appeared in the Beaumont Bar at the recently refurbished Savoy Hotel, performed regularly at world famous Ronnie Scott's jazz club and spent time working on some original material with a new blues band in the recording studios.

Emma was ecstatic to be offered the part, which followed a gruelling round of auditions culminating with the finals in front of the show's creators, Brian May and Roger Taylor, and the writer comedian Ben Elton.

"I still have to pinch herself to make sure it is really happening," she said – the show and the roll of Scaramouche in particular have always been one of her musical theatre dreams.
