BACK in February there was an outcry in the press as to how more than £24,000,000 can have been spent on the Cinderford Northern Quarter without a single brick being laid.
At the time the regeneration manager confirmed there would be a breakdown of the allocation of spend and how it would supposedly benefit the community.
Now, six months later, we are still awaiting an explanation of this massive cost which is continuing today with two and a half miles of ‘temporary’ fencing still restricting people’s access to this much loved public area.
Since February we have had an election and a new council is in post.
They should publish the cost breakdown so the public can consider for themselves if this is value for money, or if it could have been better spent in the town itself.
