PROCEEDS from a variety show held earlier this month for Muscular Dystrophy UK have been presented to the treasurer of the Forest of Dean branch.
Barbara Gilson received the cheque for £1,370 from event organiser Martin Whitehouse last week.
The sold-out event was held at Xerox Club Mitcheldean and it is hoped it will become an annual occasion.
Martin, whose grandson was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy on his first birthday, said: “Since the Forest branch was set up in 1976, they have raised well over an astonishing £350,000 to fund research into muscle wasting diseases.
“It is a privilege to support them. Thank you so much to everyone for supporting the show and we hope to make it an annual event.”
