CHEPSTOW Racecourse has agreed a new deal to provide raceday bus services.

The deal will see Newport Transport operate a shuttle service to the course serving Chepstow train and bus stations on racedays.

Rebecca Joy, general manager of Chepstow Racecourse, said: "We are very excited to be working with Newport Transport in the provision of this new bus service for our customers.

"We want them to enjoy a complete race day experience and the provision of flexible and affordable public transport to and from the Racecourse makes it even easier for them to enjoy their day at the races.

"Newport Transport is one of Wales' most respected bus transport providers which is why we were keen on working with them in the provision of this new service.

"They have experience and expertise and know how important delivering a first class service is."

Newport Transport's managing director, Scott Pearson, added: "Our network now covers some 200 square miles and this new service represents our continued expansion into the provision of public transport at sporting events. Already this year we have operated the Six Nations park and ride bus service in Cardiff and we are delighted to be working in partnership with Chepstow Racecourse to provide new travel opportunities to its visitors."

The new bus service will begin on Friday, July 15 when the Racecourse hosts its Pimm's and Jazz Race Night.

To mark the launch of the new service buses will be free to use for the next five races at the Racecourse before the paid-for service begins on August 9.
