SONGS from the films formed a large part of the Springfield Singers’ annual concert at St Mary’s Church in Lydney.
The singers were accompanied by Gareth Williams, who stepped in at the last minute and had only had two rehearsals with the ladies, with musical director Sarah Waycott paying tribute saying that “he had definitely passed the audition.”
The audience was treated to an eclectic mix of music at the showcase, with guest artist, former Royal harpist Jemima Philips, playing electric/acoustic harp and running the gamut from classical to jazz, hip hop to rock and much more.
A performance of the Bond theme tune for Skyfall was a surprise encore with the singers, St Briavels-based Jemima and Gareth joining together to create “a spine chilling sound”.
The next concert will be in Lydney Town Hall on Saturday, December 2.
