BESIDE  the letters including that from Concerned, Mitcheldean about the visual impact of a field of solar panels, you printed a photo of Foxes Bridge Colliery back in the days  "when coal was king."

There were a dozen such pithead sites of grime, dust  and smoke in the Forest.

I, for one, would rather see a thousand solar panels than a  deep pit in full operation.  And yes, Concerned, I  easily view the hill in question from my back garden.
