COMMUNITY-based artists brought their creations to The Old Vicarage, at St Mary’s Church, Lydney, last weekend, for an exhibition.
A ‘vast selection of exhibits’ was available to view, ranging from bonsai trees, model soldiers, barge paintings, flower arrangements, quilting and an array of paintings.
A corner of the exhibition was turned over to the MindScape project – which has been designed to enable people living with dementia, and their carers, to access the countryside and provide opportunities for participants to meet other people, relax, and enjoy nature and creativity.
The event was held over Saturday and Sunday, with people attending the Remembrance Service on Sunday being encouraged to visit the exhibition.
While the exhibition was free, tea was served during the afternoon, with the funds raised being used for the re-ordering of St Mary’s church.
Organiser Valerie Bishop told the Review: “It was an event to celebrate the hidden talents within our community. It displayed an amazing range of hobbies, with true artistic talents showing through.”
