A DRYBROOK woman won a place at the London Lord Mayor's Show in recognition of her fundraising efforts.

Stacey Miller, who works at Ross-on-Wye Premier Inn, was nominated by her colleagues to represent the hotel chain on the Premier Inn float in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's charity.

The parade is one of the UK's oldest street parties and this year's show featured more than 7,000 participants.

Her fundraising work at the Premier Inn includes book sales, children's activities and more. She also arranged for the team to fundraise at the Ross-on-Wye carnival and at Newent Onion Fayre.

The float was designed to highlight the partnership between the hotel chain and the charity and featured artwork on the theme of dreams made by some of the hospital's patients.

Stacey said: "It was a real honour to be selected to be a part of the Premier Inn and Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity float. The day was really fun and everyone was in great spirits knowing that we were helping to raise awareness of such an amazing charity."
