SOME 30 former staff of St White’s School reunited to celebrate nearly 130 years of education in the old building and to mark the move to a new site.

Through the help of an appeal in the Review, former assistant headteacher Bev Bowles welcomed former colleagues to a buffet lunch at Forest Hills Golf Club in Coleford before the old building closed in February.

Two former headteachers, Mr Keith Ladd and Mr Paul Woodward, cut a specially-designed cake.

Bev said: “Head of Key Stage Two Mrs Ann Fisher expressed the affection of all present for the old school building and its staff and pupils. Anecdotes and memories were exchanged and everyone enjoyed looking at the many photos which had been brought.

“We didn’t invite former pupils on this occasion but as this reunion was successful, we are hoping to make it an annual event and invite other people connected with the school.

“The organisers would like to thank the staff of Forest Hills Golf Club for their hospitality and help in setting up this very happy event.”
