TERRIFIED staff at the Brierley service station were confronted by a raider brandishing an iron bar who made them hand over cash from the till.

Nobody was hurt in the February 22 raid, which happened just before 6.30pm, but the man escaped with around £70.

Forest Police are appealing for information. Officers and a police dog made a thorough search of the area but the offender could not be traced.

He is described as a white man, approximately 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall, of medium build, wearing a black hoody, black trousers and a scarf or snood covering his face.

"You may receive a reward of up to £1,000 if the information leads to a conviction," said a police station.

The Brierley service station, in an isolated position, has been the victim of raids before.
