ONE of the Wye Valley and Forest's favourite picnic sites - The Old Station at Tintern – is calling on supporters to vote for it to be the best in the UK.
Old Station which, rumour has it, attracts more visitors a year than Tintern Abbey, is the only Green Flag site in Monmouthshire, the Wye Valley or Forest of Dean.
Manager, John Sterry, says he's hoping visitors who enjoy coming to the site will now help make it the People's Choice for 2011.
"The People's Choice Award is an annual online vote that gives the public the power to decide which one of the 1,290 parks or green spaces flying the Green Flag Award or Community Award this year, should be named the site of the year.
"Please give Old Station your vote. Please encourage your family and friends to vote. It will mean a lot for all of us who try so hard to make this place worth visiting."
You can register your vote by going to http://www.greenflagaward.org.uk/">www.greenflagaward.org.uk/ Select your region on the interactive map (Wales) find your favourite park (Old Station) this brings up more information click on this and click the 'vote for this site' button.
