THE local Relay for Life group says there is still time to enter teams of eight-fifteen for the big event over the weekend of June 25-26.
Teams can consist of all ages, levels of fitness and from all walks of life. The event takes place at Forest Leisure, Whitecross, Lydney.
The event has many memorable facets, the inspirational Survivors Opening Lap and the emotive Candle of Hope ceremony, which takes place at dusk, where dedicated candles are lit and placed around the track in memory, remembrance, reflection or celebration.
Participants are asked to raise as much money as possible leading up to the event through a wide range of fundraising activities and securing donations from friends, families and work colleagues.
The Forest of Dean has a fantastic Relay reputation, having raised over a quarter of a million pounds in the last six years for research into different forms of cancer.
