I WRITE with reference to your Opinion column in last week's edition, concerning the Asda planning application.

As you rightly state Steam Mills is about a mile from Cinderford, however the proposed store is not being built there, it is in Steam Mills Road about half a mile from the town centre.

As you then go on to dismiss 'linked' trips to the centre of town I think it is important that you accurately report the store's proposed location, which should be best described as on the edge or maybe the outskirts of the town.
