STUDENTS at the Gloucestershire College restaurant are celebrating after winning the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence 2013.

The team of students, who work at the Beechwood restaurant, received the well-sought after accolade which recognises top performing businesses on the travel review website.

This certificate is awarded to businesses that rank in the top 10 percent worldwide for traveller feedback. The Beechwood has also been ranked number one of all the restaurants listed within the Coleford area on Trip Advisor.

The Beechwood restaurant is a fully functional restaurant with all food prepared, cooked and served by catering and hospitality students training to be future chefs, waiters and supervision staff. It provides the opportunity for them to develop their work-based skills and experience a real working environment as part of their course.

Sam Watkins, restaurant manager at Gloucestershire College says: "This is a fantastic achievement for the college and our restaurant. We are all delighted with the certificate, which we will now proudly display in the restaurant.
