RUGBY chief Denis Hargreaves is upbeat his ever improving team will stave off the threat of relegation. Tabard, he said, were comfortably beaten.

"It could easily have been by more. We created a lot of chances but they were not all taken," said Hargreaves.

But for once he was talking up a sound team performance.

"We did well everywhere. It was nice to see opportunities created – it was probably the best performance of the season," he said.

Hargreaves believes Cinderford are on target to pick up six points this month and all the stops will be pulled out as they travel to Barking on Saturday looking for a double over the Londoners.

He reckons his team can also turn over Penzance as they strive to break clear of bottom spot – a position many of Cinderford's opponents this season say belies their true abilities.

For Cinderford, Goatley, Lamb, Bourne and Brookes scored tries with Goatley kicking two penalties and two conversions.
