FLANK forward Matt Taylor was named 'Coaches Player of the Year' at Lydney RFC's annual presentation evening held at Regentsholme on Saturday.
The top award was made by club president Derek Pomeroy who praised Taylor for his dedication and enthusiasm and the part he had played in making last season a success.
The leading trophy winners were Tim Longton (Players Player of the Year); Nick Selway (Young Player of the Year); Liam Trigg (United XV Coaches Player of the Year); Kurt Russell (Players Player of the Year) and United team coach Stuart Thomas who won the much admired Roger Arrowsmith and Goblet Award for Club Person of the Year.
Centre threequarter Brett Turner was the highest points scorer with 229. He also gained county and national recognition at under 21 level. Craig Jones was second highest scorer with 53.
Top try scoring honours were shared by Charlie Vine and Chris Holder with six each while the player with most First XV appearances was Nick Selway with 29.
