"YOU must keep pursuing your passion no matter what", says Charlotte Bovill-Baker, 16, who has written in to the Review about feeling pressured in to choosing a career path at school.
Teenager Charlotte Bovill-Baker is frustrated about the "unfair pressure", she says, which is placed on students by teachers, especially during the exam period.
"I wanted to get across that we're not alone", she said.
Charlotte, formerly of Lakers school, wrote in after she experienced, what she said, was a lot of pressure from teachers to plan her career path.
"I wish I could say that when you leave school everything is going to be easy and that things you want in life will come by a push of the button, but sadly it won't.
"It is unfair on teenagers when they are commanded to give an answer on what profession they are going to take, because the truth of the matter is that only a small minority of people really know what they want to be at our age.
"What has happened to many students, including myself, is that the worst pressure has been coming from teachers", she commented. "Having that breathed down your neck for seven hours a day, five days a week just suffocates teenagers".
Charlotte is still unsure, like many teenagers, about what career path she wants to follow, but she will be studying childcare next year at the Gloucestershire College Royal Forest of Dean Campus. She hopes what she has written will, "let teenagers that read this know that they are not alone".
