IT rained, then it poured, but despite the despiriting weather people braved the wet helping make the 14th Chepstow and District Vintage Club Show a success.

Club treasurer, Stephanie Evenden said: "This is our 14th annual show and in that time we've had two wash-outs where we've had to call the whole thing off. Then there was Foot and Mouth of course.

"Although the weather was against us this year, all things considering people were really good and well spirited in the circumstances."

As well as 70 or 80 cars and commercial vehicles, there were also agricultural engines, fairground organs and even a tank.

The Forest Emerald Majorettes gave a display and the Curre Hunt hounds turned out in force.

"The majorettes did a tremendous job as ever," said Mrs Evenden. "And a special thanks should go to Peter Gaskin who owns the land and is ever helpful."
