WILTSHIRE County Council propose to ban wind turbines on the grounds of health and safety. What complete nonsense. Not one death or injury is recorded.

Wind turbines represent a growing awareness towards the real laws on this planet, the laws of

nature. Right now the human race is completely out of synch with natural law. Our actions do not add up, like our economy, wasting resources as if they were infinite.

Wind turbines represent a level of understanding towards the gravity of our situation well beyond self interest. If we continue to be hungry for power then we must be prepared to pay for it. Compared with nuclear it's a bargain, especially if our polarised weather patterns get out of hand and we all have to move somewhere else. Who looks after the nuclear commitment then?

For that matter what provision do we have in place for such scenarios – none.

Wind farms could harvest the monumental power of storms by lifting salt water into offshore lagoons, which could then produce power with conventional water turbines when demand arises, with no storage problems, unlike battery technology.

Sustainability as a word has been bastardised by large corporations and political spivs cashing in on green solutions often sowing the wrong message or misinformation. Green technology could employ many on this island.

Once Rolls Royce and all the other great British engineering workshops are up to speed, using the current fiscal stimulus well, while it still works as a mechanism.

People actually believing in their work, especially when the turbine is owned by the community like the one we have here in the Forest of Dean, where it actually benefits the people in the village rather than large multi nationals monopolising the situation whilst benefiting few.

No one is prepared to tell you how much it costs to clean up nuclear – why? Because it cannot be done, only stored or dumped. The Irish Sea was a popular dumping ground right up to 1993.

Pay attention, time is running out.

Life on earth has nothing to do with economic growth.

Community owned offshore British wind turbines are without doubt the safest pension plan I know.
