FRIDAY evening rush-hour traffic from Gloucester joined tailbacks at Newham after three cars collided.

The incident happened around 5pm below the cliffs, on the A48, when an Audi A3 collided with a Volkswagen Golf attempting to turn right and a BMW Series 3 who was behind it.

A police spokesman said: “There were no injuries and all three vehicle owners arranged their own recovery.”
