I WOULD be grateful if you could let Stagecoach 24 route customers who signed a petition in May against the changes in timetabling know the current situation.
Nearly 120 signature were collected and letters asking for a return to the old timetable were sent to Stagecoach Complaints, MP Mark Harper and Mr Elsmore of the district council.
The letter complaining about the poor 24 service was sent on by Mark Harper to Will Windsor Clive at the county council.
Mr Cole, of Stagecoach, replied to complaints saying the 24 was one of the poorest performing routes in the Forest and the changes were to improve this otherwise the route could be closed.

"extraordinary" responseWill Windsor Clive replied saying that the county took a pragmatgic view on the matter, inferring that people should put up with the chages or the route could be dropped Mr Elsmore has yet to reply.
Recently Rupert Cox, head of Stagecoach West, was sent a letter detailing complaints about the 24 with the petition signatures requesting a return to the pre-March timetable and suggesting ways to improve customer numbers. A reply is awaited.
This is the situation at the time of writing. If any 24 bus users wish to write to Mr Cox with constructive ideas to attract more users contact him at Stagecoach West, 3rd Floor, 65 London Road, Gloucester GL1 3RD.
