FOREST E-ACT Academy in Cinderford has been awarded the St John Ambulance Schools Mark.

The prestigious national title is presented to schools and colleges that show a significant commitment to the safety and health of their pupils, workforce and community.

St John Ambulance's regional training and community projects manager, Jim Jones said: "It is absolutely fantastic that Forest E-ACT Academy should show such commitment to health and safety and first aid in the workplace and the school environment, for both students and staff.

"Through our work with teachers, we aim to make all schools and colleges as safe as possible.

"As well as building the confidence of staff to respond to an emergency, first aid training teaches pupils to care for others, equipping them with the skills to be the difference between a life lost and a life saved."
