RAIDERS who got away with £32,000 worth of designer clothes from a complex shared by three Lydney beauty and fashion businesses left a trail of damage.

All three Lydney Hill Street businesses, The Dressing Room, Nail Attraction and The Beauty Retreat, suffered damage in the weekend raid but The Dressing Room lost almost all its stock of designer clothes.

"It is almost as if the clothes were stolen to order," said Heidi Heaney of Nail Attraction, whose door was battered down by the thieves.

"We are on a busy corner in the heart of Lydney and it is strange nobody saw what was happening. They must have had a large vehicle to take things away."

She said owners and staff at all three businesses were heartbroken. They were picking up the pieces and making a big effort to get on with life, but it was hard.

The clothes taken from The Dressing Room are distinctive Nordic labels that could not be found elsewhere in the area, including Jackpot, Part Two and Oui Moments, and anyone offered these items should contact police, said Heidi.
