GOOD News! As a result of the Review printing a front page article and my photo about the gigantic conifers at Yew Tree Brake Cemetery, we were told at the Coleford council offices last Thursday that they are to be felled in the near future.
I'm sorry that you could not find space for the "Hedgeline" advice to people thinking of planting a hedge, or for those whose high hedges are a nuisance to their neighbours.
I have been battling since 1998 along with thousands of other sufferers to persuade Parliament that passing The High Hedges Bill is an urgent matter. Our own MP Diana Organ is very supportive and it is she who put me in touch with "Hedgeline" – a very active group.
The final reading of this Bill seems to be shelved at present. It is just a matter of luck whether it is "drawn out of the hat" to be given time. The Urban Policy Unit now comes under John Prescott's control.
"Hedgeline" has sent copies of this Code of Practice to over 500 MPs urging them to act.
If you know anyone wishing to join, I can give them details. – Sheila Birt, Mile End Road, Coleford.
