A FOREST man who is determined to continue fundraising in the memory of his sister-in-law has set off on his latest venture.
Karl Morgan, or "Cabbage" as he is known, of Cinderford, is currently trekking more than 100 miles across Costa Rica. He will be going through rainforests and rivers from the Pacific coast to the Caribbean in aid of children's cancer charity, C.L.I.C Sargent, and is due to finish next Wednesday (November 27).
The 46-year-old said: "Lyn [Hale] was a wonderful, kind and caring lady who sadly passed away five years ago from cancer. Before she died she knew that I had completed three charity events abroad for children's charities and she said to me she hoped I would continue.
"In total I have raised roughly £10,000 for charity and aim to raise at least £500 during this event. I have only been fundraising for the last five weeks because I have had gout and was not sure I would be fit enough to even walk, but it seems I am keeping it at bay at the moment.
"I have done various treks and cycle rides in foreign countries but this is the most special as it is in Lyn's memory. I hope people will kindly donate in her memory."
