TWO stalwarts of a Forest football club have been remembered with tributes.
A bench and a framed goalkeeper’s shirt were given pride of place at Broadwell Football Club in memory of former chairman Melvin Hale – who was known as ‘Mr Broadwell’ – and Ken Turner, who played in goal.
The men, who both dedicated many years to the club, both passed away just over two years ago, in December 2017.
The club’s vice-chairman, Gary Hurcombe, joined members of Melvin and Ken’s families to unveil the tributes before the Boxing Day derby against Ruardean.
The bench and shirt are a mark of appreciation of their contribution to the club.
