TO?THE person who says he had nowhere to park (letters, Dec 30) I have the following remarks.
I assume that he had no disabled badge displayed as this would have prompted the warden not to write a ticket. Therefore he, like many others of all ages and both sexes have succumbed to the modern malaise of 'Loss of use of legs syndrome'.
There was, indeed, somewhere to park, perhaps not as close to the ATM as he wanted but somewhere non the less. Like many others he would also like to ignore the Highway Code and park his car on double yellow lines, zig-zags lines on pedestrian crossings or use bus stops and loading bays just so he can use an ATM without having to walk maybe four or 500 metres.
I also pay taxes and council tax but do not feel it gives me the right to stop and park my vehicle wherever I wish just to use the bank's facilities.
This is the way that the rules work... Get over it and try walking a bit further before your legs seize up completely.
