AN invasion of wild boar has angered and perplexed well known Forest man Mike Meredith Edwards.

Mr Meredith Edwards found his garden and lawn at Sling, near Coleford, virtually destroyed after a visit from a herd of boar.

"They have caused a huge amount of damage and did so in a very short space of time. They went through the hedge like the All Blacks front row go into a ruck," he said.

More seriously, Mr Meredith-Edwards said it was time the Forestry Commission took a firm line on controlling boar.

"They are a nuisance and potentially a danger. People who feed them are creating problems because as they lose their fear for man so they become a bigger threat. My concern is that someone will eventually be hurt," he said.
