THE organisers of the forthcoming major son-et-lumiere pageant at Tintern Abbey are making an urgent appeal for a car to star in one of the show's major scenes.
"We want the use of a pre-1914 four-seater to take part in the final act of the show over nine nights," said a spokesman for Echoes and Stones.
"It will have a short drive-on spot on each of the nights, but we can't say too much about the actual scene before the show.
"It would have to be available on the nights of July 27-29, August 3-5, and August 10-12, and we can assure the owner that it would come to no harm."
She said the organisers were not really bothered whether the can was open-topped or a saloon.
"I don't think we'll have the luxury of a choice!" she said.
Rehearsals for the show set among the spectacular abbey ruins next to the river are well in swing, with full dress rehearsals starting shortly.
Great interest is already being shown with about a quarter of the tickets already sold, with the last night being particularly popular.
"If people are interested in any one night we would ask them to book quickly to avoid disappointment," the spokesman said.
Anyone who has an historic vehicle to lend to the show is asked to contact Matthew Faulkner on 01291 621997.
