BLAKENEY has started the run-up to its carnival with the election of carnival queen and her royal entourage.
The choice was made at a weekend disco and Miss Blakeney, Kirsty James, 12, will lead the procession on July 10. She was awarded a prize by local jewellers Jade.
Accompanying her will be Superhero Oliver Cadogan, 8, and Princess Blakeney Tara Parry, 9, who both received cash prizes.
Blakeney's parade will start at 1.30pm and will be followed by a fete at the village hall at 2pm.
