THE owner of top designer label, Rainforest Clothing Company, has a problem on his hands – where is he going to find a buyer for one of his superb and much sought-after coats with a somewhat outstanding 55-inch bust?
"It's not really a problem if somebody comes along to buy it but I must admit the size is a bit out of the ordinary," said Robin Caulkett, who manufactures the coats at Chapel Studio, Ruspidge Road, Cinderford.
"It was made for a mail order customer but unfortunately she did not let us know that her shoulders were quite narrow. We went ahead and made it in proportion, and it is also 51 inches long, from the neck seam down.
"We have now made a replacement coat for the lady which she is happy with but it does mean we are left with a garment which has taken around £200-worth of materials and a lot of labour to produce.
"We're not like the ordinary bespoke trade where we would ask the customer to pay up, but it would be nice to find somebody to measure up to helping us solve the problem."
Robin, whose coats have won worldwide acclaim, says he is always happy for local people to call at the studio if they are interested in his garments.
