IN times when we are trying to cut back on spending and becoming 'greener' wouldn't it make sense to simplify our waste disposal systems.

How about three disposal bins in households – one for non recyclable rubbish, one for recyclables, one for green waste, plus, maybe, a collection for other household goods on specific dates.  I have seen this system adopted in Sydney and it seems to work really well.
