AS a recent ex-pupil of Whitecross School, I read with interest the article about the forthcoming changes now it is to become an Academy.
Giving the pupils new uniform may be 'free' to the parents, but it will have a huge environmental cost.
Roughly 1,000 pupils all with at least one sweatshirt and probably two or more polo shirts each – that's at least 3,000 pieces of clothing to get binned.
All the signs and stationary will have to be changed unnecessarily too. What a waste!
