I WOULD just like to balance up some of the negativity that has been creeping into the improvements spent on the rejuvenation to Cinderford town centre. I particularly wanted to thank Severn Trent for the water feature that has been cascading down the High Street for most of 2012 and hope it continues through 2013.
This must be at quite considerable expense as it has dried up on at least three occasions over the last 12 months but they have managed to get it going again within 48 hours.
I am looking forward to a bout of cold weather when it should be able to be used as a temporary ice rink, like the one they used to have in Gloucester for Christmas, so at least it should attract a few tourists into the town.
So three cheers for Severn Trent and the town council for persevering with this project at a time when most are trying to cut back on spending and implementing so-called austerity measures.
Please come and visit Cinderford and see for yourself, it's like a Forest Splash Mountain particularly if you happen to be on the pavement when the traffic is passing.
Are Disney perhaps involved in this collaboration? Answers on a postcard please!
