YOUNG people joined members of the British Legion as a Garden of Remembrance was unveiled in Cinderford.

Members of Cinderford Swimming Club and the junior section of Puma Football Club were among those to place crosses in the garden on the war memorial in The Triangle.

There was also a reading from In Flanders Fields, the poem which inspired the use of the poppy as a symbol of remembrance.

Parade marshal for Cinderford British Legion, Mark Evans, said it was the first time they had had a garden of remembrance.

He said: “In the run-up to Armistice Day we wanted to do something a little different and we are particularly pleased to have the young people involved.”
