I WAS furious to read of the Co-op's plan to go to High Court to stop Asda opening in Cinderford.
If the Co-op gave a good service and their prices were reasonable why should they care about opposition?
Earlier this year there was a case in a Somerset town where they wanted to open a Sainsburys. The Co-op took the matter to High Court and won.
They stopped Tesco coming to Cinderford with the promise of the walkways they were going to build and all the things they were going to do to improve the town.
What have they done? Nothing.
Recently the Co-op has opened a cafe adjoining their store. There are plenty of places to eat and drink in Coleford and they probably find it hard to make a living. But did they care?
I would rather travel 20 miles to Gloucester than shop in the Co-op.
There will be those who will whinge about the divi but can't they see they pay for that in high prices?
If the Co-op is such a good store, why is it that after all the years they have been in business, they have never been recognisd as in the top three supermarkets?
They are a ruthless company and should not be allowed to get away with what they plan to do.
Boycott them. They care about no-one but themselves.
