LYDNEY Tennis Club recently opened its gates to welcome anyone wanting to sample the delights of the other 'beautiful game.'
Enthusiastic youngsters made up the majority but it was good to see more adults joining in this year, say the club – why should the kids have all the fun?
Gloucestershire LTA sent along a coach – Neil Dawson – who did a brilliant job organising the children. The 'Fun Factory' was set up and they had a wonderful time with games, drills and mini-competitions.
There were prizes galore and club members turned out in force to help out and support the event.
Special thanks was given to assistant club coaches Jan James and Mark Jones who worked their socks off with the children. (Mark and Jan also run the mini-tennis at Whitecross Leisure Centre).
