LITTLE Finn Collison-Green made an unexpected stage debut during a production by award-winning theatre company Oddsocks.
The five-year-old from Tintern had been taken along to see Oddsocks’ unique take on Shakespeare’s Macbeth at Chepstow Castle.
During the second half of the hugely entertaining, musical ‘steampunk’ version of what is usually a tragedy the call went out for a volunteer to play the part of the messenger – and Finn duly obliged.
With a little help from cast members, Finn delivered his lines warning Macbeth of the approaching English army.
The six-strong cast peppered Shakespeare’s ‘Scottish play’ with a range of appropriate rock songs.
Oddsocks got this year’s Chepstow Festival, the 15th since 1988, underway with productions of Macbeth and A Midsummer’s Night Dream.
There are 80 events over the next four weeks including open air theatre, walks, talks and music.
It finishes on July 24 with a celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Old Wye Bridge.
