THE ANNUAL Boxing Day Mark Burgess memorial game at Yorkley FC finished with honours even on the field but, more importantly, it raised nearly £1,000.
The game was the 11th held to honour the memory of Mark who was killed on Boxing Day 2002 as he walked home.
The select sides were made up of those who played alongside Mark for Yorkley and other Yorkley players.
The side picked by Andrew Burgess played in red and black stripes while the Yorkley select played in blue and black.
The kit was provided by Mark's family who wanted to give something back to the club after last year's game.
The Yorkley side was captained by Steve Jeffs and Scott Tyler was skipper of the Burgess select team. The game was refereed by Barry Jessop.
Mark Hudson, who helped organise the game, said: "It was a very good afternoon and we raised nearly £1,000.
"Club Ginger in Lydney gave us a 12-month's membership to auction which brought in a lot of money.
"We've had a fantastic response again.
"Quite a few of the lads who played with Mark are still playing in the first team.
