DRYBROOK couple Ivy and Idris Brown have celebrated 65 years of marriage.

The well known couple held a family party at The Dilke Memorial Hospital where Mr Brown, 96, is recovering from an operation.

Mr and Mrs Brown were family friends as youngsters in Drybrook and married at the Methodist Church, Drybrook, in 1937.

They have two sons and two daughters.

Mr Brown began work at the age of 13 for the Co-operative Society and spent over 40 years with them managing stores in Drybrook, The Morse, Cinderford and Lydbrook.

Later the couple ran their own business in Drybrook.
