YOUNG Olivia Gribble is already shows early signs of becoming a media guru after taking it upon herself to contact the Review to promote her school's latest achievements.

Alongside fellow members of the student committee, Niamh Newman and Sophie Davis, Olivia explained Aylburton C of E Primary School has won a prestigious Sing Up Gold Award.

It has also become a healthy eating plus school, and on top of that, received an 'Outstanding' SIAS report.

SIAS means the Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools. In summary judgement the report said: "The distinctiveness and effectiveness of Aylburton Primary School as a Church of England School are outstanding. Christian values permeate the life and work of the school and are acknowledged as central to its purpose by all stakeholders." The report also praised the effective and committed leadership at the school and its enthusiastic and supportive staff.

Olivia, who lives in Alvington, says: "When I came here first time I thought it was great and I still think its great," which must tell you something.
