GROUPS across the Forest and Wye Valley supported research into cancer by organising coffee mornings.

They were taking part in the Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee which sees people across the country enjoy a coffee and cake to raise money for the charity.

Staff the Dean Field Study Centre in Parkend were delighted to raise £900 thanks to the event held in the Dean Garden Room and organised by cooks Jane Morgan, Karen Morse and Nicky Challenger.

Visitors to Chepstow Library were given the opportunity to sample three different coffees from around the world and rank them according to taste.

Among the other events being held at the area were coffee mornings at the Goode Court complex in Lydney, Five Acres Garage in Berry Hill and Caldicot Guide hut.
