BORN a Forester, and now a visitor twice a year, I ask myself whatever is happening to Coleford?
Ever since the old Town Hall was taken down the town has deteriorated. There are never-ending alterations all round the clock tower etc. It's a shambles!
Money would be better spent removing derelict buildings and eyesores and putting new, attractive ones in their place. Revamp the empty shops and have affordable rents to encourage people to invest in them and be able to make a worthwhile living.
There is a monstrosity of a building going up round by Pyart Court which I'm led to believe is for flats and shops, quite out of keeping with surrounding premises.
Come on, you planning officers. Do something or you will have a ghost town, with just charity shops and estate agents.
The town is a disaster, though I guess someone is doing very nicely. – Mrs Marjorie Isted, East Hoathly, Lewes, East Sussex.
