HARTS Barn Cookery School at Longhope held a day-long community celebration, 'From Fire To Feast', to officially launch the Forest of Dean's first earth oven.
The event on Sunday, February 24 started with the first bread being baked at dawn and the celebration in an atmospheric sunset feast set around the earth oven and fire pit.
At sunset, a feast of locally sourced meat, breads and produce that had been cooked in the earth oven were served for all to enjoy.
The founder of the project, Danny Shmulevitch, gave talks about his experiences of travelling and working with the indigenous communities in Tibet, the Arctic Circle and living amongst the desert Bedouin.
