AN avid traveller has dreamt up – literally – a camping bed alternative which has grabbed the attention of the world including a famous entrepreneur.

After just 65 hours of launching their Bundle Bed project on the global crowdfunding website Kickstarter, Lucy Bartlett of Awre and her business partner James Clark have seen it fully-funded.

They have received pledges from more than 220 backers across the world and have presented the idea to Dragon’s Den star Touker Suleyman.

She added: “It’s amazing that an idea which I came up with while travelling in Australia has become so successful. I loved the concept of a swag which I slept in but wanted to come up with a more streamlined version that was still as comfy and cosy.”

Lucy said: “We have created a product for people who like to get out and about, without sacrificing a good night’s sleep.

“Even Touker Suleyman, of Dragon’s Den, has given the product his seal of approval. We met and discussed our business endeavour with him through a visit to his office arranged by the Old Cheltonians Society, as I was a former student at Cheltenham College. 

“He was very positive about the product and the business. He gave some very helpful feedback about how to get to market, who to approach for funding in the future.”
