I AM writing to say how pleased I was to read your article 'Swimming in the open' (Review, May 25, 2011) about the Bathurst Pool in Lydney.

Two Rivers Initiatives, part of Two Rivers Housing, worked tirelessly to help save the pool back in 2004.

You can imagine how pleasing it is to see how our investment of £36,000 has had such a positive effect for the community. Since the reopening, nearly 30,000 people have made use of the facility. This is just one of some 40 community projects sponsored by Forest of Dean Initiatives (now Two Rivers Initiatives).

Bob and Sheila Berryman are doing a fantastic job and I wish them and all of the team managing the pool well for its future development.
