A GOOD crowd gathered at the annual fete of the Four Catholic Churches in the Forest.
The dry weather helped pull in the crowd to St Joseph's Church, Lydney, for a day of family fun which was kicked off by Forest MP Mark Harper who opened the fete.
As usual the cake stall sold out quickly and there were also homemade jam and pickle stalls as well as a fresh produce stall.
Lydney Training Band put on a fantastic performance and there was a raffle stall and name the parrot and monkey games. The winning name of the parrot was 'Pat' while the monkey was called 'Ollie'.
Spokeswoman Helen Molyneux said: "The fete was once again a great success as we took almost the exact same amount as last year – despite a slight drop in visitors.
"Like previous years, this is our major fundraising activity and is the sum from which we can make donations to local Christian charities. This year we raised £2,023.
"We are extremely grateful to those who supplied goods including Nisa at Lydney and Suntory of Coleford who donated Lucozade and Ribena for the hoopla stall. Also to Mark Harper for opening the fete and those who came along to make the fete the success it was.
"Here's looking forward to next year!"
