THE FIRST wedding ceremony to be carried out for over a decade at Symonds Yat Baptist Chapel took place on Saturday.
The famous little chapel in the valley was the venue chosen by Judith Alderson and John Morton who live near Newark, Nottinghamshire.
Judith told the Review: "We fell in love with the chapel when we first saw it years ago and pledged that if we married we would have to get married in the chapel."
The couple have taken their holidays in the Forest for the past five years and now have a caravan permanently sited here.
"Everyone linked to the chapel has been wonderful. They have supported us and worked very hard to help us plan the wedding.
"We would like to thank Foresters who we have found to be the most wonderful people we have ever met. It was another special reason why we wanted to marry in the Forest of Dean," said Judith.
Judith is a manager in further education and John manages the Midland branch of the Retired Greyhound Trust.
