Please folk of Coleford be aware

If Tesco's sited way out there

The centre of our town must die

However local traders try.

Coleford should cluster round its clock

The super centre that it's got

Bring back a pharmacy, its Post Office retain

Give it a chance to flourish once again.

Surely it must get old folk down..

Who travel by bus to Coleford town

Needing medication...they must walk

Way out there to Pyart Court.

The old Council Offices...there's a site

If bulldozed, cleared, then it well might

Have been the spot...provided space

For our "out of town" Main?Place.

Tesco may come...'twill use us as it chooses

With no concern for what this small town loses

But if it must come, site it in the town

To boost small traders...not to close them down.

Tesco will be generous, that's their way

To influence us and win the day

Let us think and be long sighted

So many small towns have been blighted.
